Soft Landings
Dan Johnson and I originaly wrote this song to be sung to children in the tiny village of Mayumbamba, Peru, when Carole, Cole, and I went there on a 2006 mission trip with Softly International, an organization that provided beds and “magic dream pillows” to children in the Third World who slept on dirt floors (the beds helping to keep them from recurring skin ailments and parasites once the Red Cross had successfully restored their health). I had almost forgotten about the song when JD heard it and suggested I edit the lyrics slightly to make it a more broadly appealing lullaby. Since our first grandchild was on her way, this seemed a great idea! So in its second life, this song is for Tallis Elizabeth Walders, and any more grandbabies that might come to bless our lives!
