One Step at a Time
One thing that I have in common with my co-writer on this tune, JD Martin, is stepchildren. The experience of growing a family connection with someone who has a different parent is one that many people share today. It is one of life’s growth opportunities that definitely happens “one step at a time.” My wife and I made the decision early in our marriage to do our very best to come from love in every interaction with our “Brady Bunch” of 5. There were and still are painful moments for each of us, but I do believe that time, and our best attempts at honesty and integrity, have helped us forge relationships that have deepened into rich blessings in our lives. I hope that it can be the same for all who find themselves on this particular stairway. Be patient. One step at a time.
