How showing love to another can shape the path they take 

Even the smallest seed can grow to a mighty tree 

You’ll never know what your love planted in me 

You’re the one who listened when I just needed a friend 

I’m the one you encouraged to get up and try again 

You called me on the phone just to tell me I wasn’t alone 

You took the time to make me feel at home 

You may never hear, “Thanks for all you’ve done!” 

And you may never see the fruits of all your love 

You may never know just how much it will grow           

But you planted a seed that made a diff’rence to me 

You may not even remember the kindness you showed to me 

Mine was the heart that you lifted when hope seemed out of reach 

You might not recall my name, but you helped me get through the pain 

Because of you that day my whole life changed
