I’m not sick — but I sure am sick of it

The fear and the fighting, dividing and hiding, Oh, just all of it.

I can’t sleep, so I dream to make up for it

After all it’s the kind of tired no amount of sleep can fix

I’m ready for a healing day.  I can feel it coming from a mile away

No more waiting for the clouds to break. Yeah it’s time, time, time for a healing day

“Could be worse,” it’s a pretty low bar, It’s a subtle curse, it’s the end of the open heart

If we keep our distance, if we build our walls If we’re wearing masks, do we see each other at all

The nightly news is nightly abuse, Makin’ sure we forget that we get to choose

We can do better than this — this artificial distance, yeah

We can do better than this — all the small-scale loneliness

Got to do better than this — singing without a sound

We can do better than this — I’m so tired of lockdown, it knocked me down
