Looking around my life has been a mess.

Even now I’m overwhelmed with stress.

The job I want to quit.

My body is far from fit.

And I’m struggling in my relationships.

I know there must be more to life than this.

Maybe there was a sign that I missed.

There’s a whisper in my heart,

But the road has been so hard.

Where can I even hope to start?

The place where I am standing now,

It’s already holy ground.

With all the triumphs, all the trials and tears.

Where I’ve been and what I’ve done

Is part of me and so I love

The person that’s reflected in the mirror.

So grateful for the mess that brought me here.

My journey starts with loving all I am.

Accepting things that didn’t go as planned.

The best parts of me.

The parts that aren’t shiny.

I’m exactly where I need to be.

The place where I am standing now,

It’s already holy ground.

With all the triumphs, all the trials and tears.

Where I’ve been and what I’ve done

Is part of me and so I love

The person that’s reflected in the mirror.

So grateful for the mess that brought me here.

There will still be ups and downs,

But I’ve got my footing now.

I can take this leap of faith from solid ground.
