About Me
I’m a BMI-affiliated singer/songwriter/musician and published writer. With all of the great technology and a tall pile of songs and stories I’ve written over many years, and my age numeral not getting any lower, I’ve decided to spend this year getting it all out the door, even while I continue to create more. (I can’t help it!) I’d say my songs and the writing I’m getting out are mostly hopeful and inspirational. I spent 30 years performing on the road and locally in Brevard County, Florida, in night clubs and lounges. For 8 years, (1970’s through early ’80’s), I sang and played keyboards, slide trombone, and banjo with a show band on the road. We were first booked by Arne Prager in Chicago and later by ACA in Milwaukee. For another 4 years, I performed on the road as a single act, specializing as a piano bar entertainer. I finally settled in Melbourne, Florida, and made my living entertaining with a keyboard for weddings, receptions, and private dance parties, and playing acoustic piano in piano bars. I have released 3 albums of original inspirational songs through CD Baby, including an album of my music as background with Paula Langguth Ryan’s spoken meditations, titled “Face to Face.” My recording of my song, “Sunday Blessing” on my “Spiritland” album was played on ABC’s “World News Now,” and my “Cake Song” is the most frequently downloaded online of all of my songs. I have been playing music in Unity and other new thought churches since the 1980’s, and served as music director in a Unity church for 5 years. I hold a B.A. degree in English and an M.A. in Ed., and have taught college English for years. For more than ten years I was a full-time technical writer and marketing writer in corporations in Ohio, Milwaukee, and Florida. Besides writing songs and stories, my passion is facilitating writers’ groups who write and read aloud episodes from their lives. My own life story work feeds into the published magazine stories and songs I write. Right now I’m recording an audio book of my published humorous stories from the early 1980’s, as well as another 14 original songs that I will release one at a time through CD Baby.
