About Me

Melinda Wood Allen is a versatile singer/songwriter/actress/choral director who began her professional singing career entertaining U.S. troops overseas with Morale Support Theatres Europe. There she studied opera while performing in musical theater productions throughout Germany, France, and Spain. She spent two years singing and touring the Pacific Northwest and Japan with Seattle-based jazz band Too Hot, and since moving to Texas (over 20 years ago now. Yikes!), has performed with Fort Worth Opera, toured widely with the Fort Worth Symphony’s Best of Broadway series, and joined the Texas tour of the Michael Martin Murphy Band, singing country music (and yodeling). She indulges in her love of musical theater by regularly performing at many D/FW venues, and recently wrote music and lyrics for Rev. Ed Townley’s transformational play, Greater Things Than These, which has had performances all over the U.S. She has been a New Thought Music Director for over 25 years (obsiously starting when she was 10) and a member of the Unity Worldwide Ministries Music Team for 6.
