About Me
I’m s composer, solo performer and bandleader who plays rare and captivating instruments in diverse settings. Three such instruments are called the Electronic Valve Instrument (or EVI), The Hang, and the Gubal. I have a successful and long-standing world fusion band based in San Francisco, The Venusians. The EVI has been my main instrument in the band. In more recent times I’ve introduced the Hang and Gubal, which are contemporary melodic/percussive instruments and have launched a solo career aside from my band presence. I sing and play songs from the heart while accompanying myself on these brilliant instruments created by the Swiss-based PANArt company. My performances are known to open the heart and bring peace to the mind. The Hang was invented just 12 years ago and the Gubal is brand new. The instruments are sometimes described as sculptures of sound and were conceived and created in the Swiss capital of Berne under the hammers of instrument makers/artists Felix Rohner and Sabina Schärer.
I have a history of playing at Gala events worldwide and happenings like the TED Conferences, but most of the year I tour and play solo concerts in quiet and sometimes sacred spaces. The venues include theaters, churches, yoga centers, “listening” rooms and clubs. I also play at select house concerts.
