About Me

Martin Klabunde is an author, a speaker, an international musician, and the founder of Collective Awakening. His mission is to harness the power of music to transform, expand and uplift our consciousness. An initiated Nahual in the Zapotec tradition, Martin has spent the last 25 years traveling to Africa and Mexico where he studied with initiated drum masters and indigenous healers. Through his travels, Martin experienced, first-hand, the ancient technology of music and the opportunities it offers us to connect to our cosmic memory and create a reality that embraces freedom, compassion, integrity, joy and love.

Martin is a professional musician and one of a handful of Certified Professors of the Djembe at Mamady Keita’s Tam Tam Mandengue International School of Djembe. In addition to drumming, Martin has also achieved excellence in playing the adungu (bowl harp from Uganda), the akogo (thumb piano from Uganda), and the Australian didgeridoo. As a multi-instrumentalist and a prolific musician, Martin has produced five music CD’s and three meditation CD’s.

Martin has conducted music concerts, workshops, events, conferences and retreats around the country. With over 20 years of teaching, performance, and workshop facilitation experience, Martin brings a wealth of artistry, knowledge and wisdom to Collective Awakening events.
