About Me

Lydia’s cool and unique style began at the age of five as she began her twelve years of private study in piano, organ, flute and voice, playing in
symphonic, dance and marching bands through high school, and three years at the Santa Fe Conservatory of Music Beginning her professional career at the age of 15, performing in rock, jazz, country, blues, Dixieland, and gospel bands and musicals. Lydia has been teaching piano and voice for over 30 years.

Currently, Lydia works with the Santa Fe Public Schools as a choir accompanist and vocal assistant, and with the musical theater department, accompanist for the Santa Fe Community College choirs and teaches piano/voice and music theory privately. She has also participated in, and coordinated several benefits including “Outside/In”, Esperanza, concert for WWOZ public radio station in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, Toys for Tots, and the “Heart of Santa Fe” CD project awarded “Best Local CD” in 2010 benefiting Warehouse 21 (local teen project).

She is a BMI recording artist and launched her last album in the fall of 2010 “It’s a Brand New Day” from Lydia Clark & The Gospel Ryders.
This title song won “Best Gospel Song” at the 2011 New Mexico Music Awards. She also won “Best Children’s Song” at the 2012 NM Music Awards. She is currently working on three new releases to be available in 2014.
