About Me

Janet Conner is a writer, columnist, and teacher with a simple message: Everyone has direct and immediate access to the Voice of wisdom. Everyone. You just need to know how to make the connection and activate the Voice. Janet’s book explains how. Writing Down Your Soul:How to Activate and Listen to the Extraordinary Voice Within comes out this December from Conari Press. Here’s the odd thing about Janet. She did not set out to be a writer never mind a spiritual writer. After an early career in special ed she shifted into human resources creating the first recruitment program at CNN then running a division of an international search firm and finally launching a human resources consulting firm. Spiritual writing was nowhere on her horizon. But then her marriage imploded dramatically and Janet found herself wearing a police emergency call button living with the blinds closed keeping her cell phone predialed to 911. O Clients and friends quickly disappeared. Out of sheer frustration and desperation she grabbed a journal one day wrote “Dear God” at the top of a page and demanded help. Within days Janet discovered that writing in a particular way brings instant access to focused guidance and direction break-through creativity and answers to the soul’s deep questions. Like Hansel in the fairy tale Janet followed the guidance she received rebuilt and transformed her life and in the process discovered her life’s purpose. From her experience Janet knew that deep soul writing worked but she didn’t exactly know why. So last summer she set out to uncover the science that explains why writing down your soul is such an effective vehicle into unconscious mind and beyond. In Writing Down Your Soul Janet weaves together threads from science mystical poetry ancient spiritual traditions and her and other soul writers’ stories. The end result is a simple four-step modern process that anyone can use to access the wisdom that waits just beyond the conscious surface. Janet also created Spiritual Geography the soul writing system that heals the broken heart and writes a column for UPI’s religionandspirituality.com
