About Me

Heather O’Day is the Music Director at the Sonoran Desert Center for Spiritual Living in Amado, AZ. She is a 30-year veteran in a wide array of music and acting genres. … but it was not until joining the family at SDCSL and the magic and influence of Posi-musicians like Karen Drucker, Jana Stanfield, Daniel Nahmod, and Rev. Michael Gott that she began writing her own songs. Experience and training ranges from musical theater, opera (Mezzo-Soprano), film & stage performances, commercials, promotional modeling, and voice-over work for independent YouTube projects and spoken-word recordings. O’Day began her singing career at the age of 5, working her way from children’s roles on stage and television in New England and planting roots in Tucson, AZ with family in 1996. She started working as a session singer while still in high school. She was the state-level winner of the 2003 Metropolitan Opera Competition. In 2006, while still a working musician in a variety of musical groups and on recordings, she developed her own “whole-body singing” teaching style and still teaches a few select students. A rocker at heart, Heather has sung alongside national acts like Alice Cooper, Pam Tillis, and The Billy Bob Thorton Blues Band – she is thrilled to play her beloved guitars with her partner, drummer Stephen Anthony in their band Mass Transit.
