About Me

Gary Malkin is a multiple Emmy Award-winning composer, performer, public speaker and healing music innovator who empowers the world to embrace music and sound strategies as catalysts for health, wellness, and a connection to what matters most. He is dedicated to redefining music’s role in healthcare, with a particular focus on utilizing music infused resources for more compassionate life transitions, from birth to death. In addition, Gary has created a body of instrumental work to catalyze peaceful and coherent work environments, in hopes to cultivate what he calls “heart-centered mindfulness™. His globally acclaimed palliative classic, Graceful Passages, co-created with award-winning musician and filmmaker Michael Stillwater, has touched nearly a million people worldwide, offering psycho-spiritual support for patients and caregivers engaged in all phases of the life-threatening illness and end-of-life processes. After co-authoring the award-winning Book and CD of songs and lullabyes entitled Safe in the Arms of Love with music and healing expert Lisa Rafel and renowned psychologist, David Surrenda, Ph.D – developed to deepen the essential bond between parents and newborns, this creative team is now putting the finishing touches on a social impact musical theatre project, Can You Hear Me Baby, currently preparing for its theatrical debut at theaters and perinatal conferences worldwide. Still scoring film and television projects, Gary received a Best Soundtrack Award from the Hollywood Music in Media Awards for the groundbreaking documentary, THRIVE, seen by 90 million people in 40 countries since 2011. He has presented to institutions and conferences hosted by organizations such as Stanford Health, Google, Harvard’s Conference on Spirituality and Health, Scripps Clinic, Arizona Center for Integrative Health, and Kaiser Permanente, among others – and is frequently asked to speak and perform for healthcare conferences and new thought spiritual communities throughout the world. He’s often featured on the national PBS TV and radio series, Healing Quest, and has been interviewed on many national talk shows and tele-seminars promoting a deeper understanding of the power of music for optimal health and fulfillment. He was invited to serve as the featured lecturer on “Music as a Path to the Divine” by the respected Ubiquity University at the New Chartres Academy in Chartres, France in 2016. As the new Music Director of the celebrated healthcare ambience company, Aesthetic Audio Systems, he’s currently harnessing his many years of experience as a film and TV composer by “scoring” (curating) healthcare environments with life-enhancing musical soundtracks and strategies.
