About Me

FREEBO is an award-winning singer-songwriter who tours internationally. He is most famous as BONNIE RAITT’s bass player for more than a decade, on the road and in the studio, has performed with countless music stars in rock, blues, and folk, and is well known and highly regarded for his thoughtful and powerful use of words, both in song lyrics and in prose and narrative. FREEBO was the winner of the 2008 Posi Award for “Best Song” in The Most Uniting Category, Finalist in the 2012 Posis in the Personal Transformation category, Winner of The ’07 Los Angeles Music Awards “Best Folk Artist”, Winner ’07 South Florida Songwriting Contest, Outstanding Achievement in the 2012 Great American Song contest (Americana), finalist in The 2012 International Songwriting Contest, finalist in 2009 The Great American Songwriting Contest, and finalist in 5 different categories of JPF Awards). He has also appeared on Saturday Night Live, Midnight Special, Muppets Tonight, and in concert with the legendary Spinal Tap. It was his yearning for more creative expression, however, that drove Freebo to begin a process of deep inner discovery, and this has led to his successful transition as a singer/songwriter. Of his new CD “Something To Believe” ……….. “In a cluttered world that seems to thrive on excess, self-promotion, and personal and political agendas, listening to Freebo and his new album is like riding on a cumulus cloud of peaceful awareness. Freebo’s songs are at once uplifting while also serving as mini socio-economic history lessons interspersed with beautiful melodic love songs in his own cosmic blend of country/rock/soul/folk ear-pleasing genre-defying music.” …Walt Falconer, Cool Album Of The Day “Freebo’s intimate and go-down-easy personable vocals are at times reminiscent of vintage Cat Stevens. It’s a voice that can tie in light-hearted fare, social commentary, and spiritual quest with love-sweet-love, and make it sound seamless” …Janet Goodman, Music News Nashville
