About Me

I am a musician,(vocalist, pianist, guitarist,) composer, arranger, writer, poet, hands-on healer, dog lover, teacher, mom and wife. I’ve been a music director and featured soloist at Interfaith Churches,Traditional Churches, Unity Churches, Ashrams and Spiritual Retreats for almost 40 years. I’ve worked in Nashville and NYC for many years as a club date musician and studio singer, opened for the Pointer Sisters in Washington D.C. in 1995, worked briefly in NYC as a stand-up comedian/actress, and now produce music both commercially and spiritually for myself and for others. My EP, “Above The Rain,” was released on Bandcamp in April 2012, (See link on this page.) My original choral pieces have been performed by community choirs nationwide,(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou00lzXOZuk), and I was recently a finalist in the Sister Singers Choral Composer’s Competition in Chicago in July 2013 for writing an SSA choral composition called, “The Arrow And The Song,” from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem of the same title. In April 2013, I made my orchestral debut as a composer when my composition, “Second Time Around,” a movie theme was performed by the University of Georgia’s Studio Jazz Orchestra. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJGe6xmGarM) Music is a powerful healer uniting souls together with love to create peace and harmony in the world.

The focal point in my life now is all about healing. Healing the past, becoming more and more aware of the present and embracing loved ones that are near. I have taken time off from my chiropractic practice to give 24/7 loving care to a family member with dementia, and am currently bringing music to people suffering from dementia and their caregivers in my community by starting a choir called, “Side by Side Singers,” in Athens, GA. I study Validation therapy with Naomi Feil, MSW and continue to learn as much as I can about how to communicate with very old people suffering from dementia and PTSD. I write about my experience with care giving in a blog at: http://www.caregiversgetfit.blogspot.com

My Interests

I enjoy speaking to large groups of people at churches and gatherings about positive thinking, humor and healing the past. I also enjoy sharing my music at churches, retreats, conventions, and concerts.
