About Me
Robert “Bob”Pryor; songwriter, producer, and performer, has been involved in music for over 45 years. Bob’s writing style has always created songs with strong harmonic structure, which is reflected in many of his songs. In addition to writing, Bob plays lead guitar, bass guitar, and has a three-octave voice. His technique originally was blues/rock, but the last few years he has incorporated an acoustic blend to his style, creating a very unique sound.
Bob has always been meticulous in varying his genres, writing what he feels, rather than staying in one distinctive style.
“I have always written music from my heart. It portrays the human experience, and in many cases, leaves questions unanswered, as in life. I do not target my writing to a particular genre; it just evolves into the music style that best fits the personality of the song. Songwriting to me is a spiritual experience”
Bob is a true multi-tasker, and is involved in many creative projects. In addition to songwriting, he is developing a training company called “Healing the World; Programs for Peace and Productivity” which will offer seminars on various business and self improvement subjects. He also is involved in developing a multimedia network to offer a variety of diversified creative products to the public. As if this was not enough to keep a person occupied, Bob is a published article and essay writer, penning many provocative and timely pieces on various subjects in local magazines.
On the live performance side, you will often find Bob and his band “Significant Others,” appearing at local coffeehouses, spiritual organizations, and similar establishments; anywhere that their musical messages can make a positive difference. At last count, Bob has written over 400 original tunes.
He has also released four songbooks, the latest being spiritual numbers penned by Bob named “Serenity of Spirit” and “Spirit Rocks,” both for sale on the Empower store.
In 2003, Bob released his first CD, “Throwback,” and two years later released a mini CD “Reflections in Time,” as a memorial to his late parents. His third, “The Dream Was Love” was released in July of 2006. He released a fourth CD with his band “Significant Others” called “My Spirit Came Alive,” in December of 2010, which consists entirely of original spiritual and inspirational music Bob has written.
For Bob, creativity is life. It represents gifts that were given to him, and is his way of “giving back” and improving other’s lives. Bob is constantly stretching his creative talents into different areas. Experience Bob’s unique way of looking at the world through his creative talents, and be inspired!
