About Me

Through her original music, Audra Sergel tells stories of life, love, and beauty. A Mid-Missouri-based singer-songwriter and pianist, Audra draws from personal experiences to create vocal jazz melodies that are shaded with influences of the blues, pop, and early musical theater. Her nuanced piano skills and shimmering vocal quality lend themselves to melodic narratives that range from soothing to sophisticated to toe-tappingly vibrant.

Nominated as one of Inside Columbia’s best vocalists, Audra has toured and performed across the midwest with her band of stellar musicians and as a soloist and is a Missouri Arts Council Touring Performer. She has been seen and heard on the stages of many festivals including the Chicago Musical Theater Festival, KC Fringe Festival, the Blind Boone Piano Series, and the T/F Film Festival. Audra’s debut album, Forgotten Songs, is available on iTunes, Spotify, and beyond.

Audra is also an active educator, conductor, and composer of choral music and musical theater. She is the Artistic Director and founder of Columbia’s LGBTQQA-Z Community Choir, the Quorus. She teaches voice and piano privately at Sergel Music Studio, and has served as faculty at Stephens College School of Performing Arts and the University of Missouri-Columbia. She holds a Masters degree in Vocal Music from Central Methodist University and is currently launching a podcast and blog based on her teaching experiences called “The Singer’s Barre.”
