About Me

Gun Hill Road in the Bronx was a place of dreams in the 1950’s. It was here Andy Shapiro grew up listening to his sister’s Four Seasons and Beach Boys records.

He fell in love with the guitar as a nine year old listening to his mother strum folk songs and picked up the electric guitar in the 60’s to the Beatles, Stones, and then Cream and Jimmy Hendrix. He left college to become a full time musician and toured New England in a Country Rock Band playing Emmy Lou, Linda Ronstadt, Hank, Johnny, Merle and the rest of the gang. Andy became part of the Boston music scene in the 70’s and 80’s in the local renowned band “The Catch” and then took time off to raise a family.

Music percolated through the next millennium when Andy picked up the guitar again to become a singer-songwriter. He released his first CD “Find My Way Home” in May 2018. “Through the Looking Glass,” a song about changing the world by changing the way you view it, won honorable mention at the 2019 Posi Music Festival.
