About Me
Leddy Hammock is a well-known minister, author and speaker in the Unity and New Thought movements, who has published books, articles, poems, song lyrics, and meditations that can be heard on two CDs: "Twelve Women of the Chalice," and "I Choose a Path that’s Paved with Miracles," with accompanying booklets and meditative rune sets.
In the 1970's, she co-authored two books published by Unity: Patterns for Self-Unfoldment and Steps in Self-Knowledge. She was licensed as a Unity Teacher in 1980, and licensed as a Unity Minister by the Association of Unity Churches in 1981. She was ordained a Unity Minister by the Association of Unity Churches at Unity Village in 1982, and by the Unity-Progressive Council in 1995 at Unity Church of Clearwater, Florida.
Leddy is the mother of three sons, and has four grandchildren. Her husband and spiritual partner, L. Russell Hammock, Jr., is Director of Operations at Unity Church of Clearwater.
Leddy is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and served for several years on the Executive Board of the International New Thought Alliance, and on several Ministry Teams for the Association of Unity Churches, as well as on the Archives Committee for the International New Thought Alliance.
She has served as Minister of the congregation of Unity Church of Clearwater since 1981. Leddy was born in St. Louis, MO and grew up in St. Louis and Kansas City. During her teen years she worked for Silent Unity. Her first church was in Bettendorf, Iowa, in a beautiful building that was originally a Carmelite monastery. The building is now a beautiful hotel called the Abbey.
Leddy moved to Florida with her family in 1980 and has called Unity Church of Clearwater home since 1981. Since the time she arrived she has taught our church family how to be the positive, prosperous, healthy, children of God that she knows they are.
When Leddy is teaching, she is also learning. After her Sunday lesson she is often heard saying, "I was just talking to myself!" Leddy's greatest gift is her ability to share the Truth with any size group and make everyone present feel like she is talking directly to them.
Leddy holds a red belt in Tae Kwon Do, is an accomplished dancer, loves books, movies, and writing, and is a staunch defender of the Truth.
