Human Race

Words and Music by Richard Mekdeci

I’m a member of the human race, ask me where I’m from, I’ll say this human place.

Born here with a heart, a soul, a face, I’m a member of the human race.

Looking at a forest, all I see are trees.  Oaks and elms and sycamores, branches and leaves

Ev’ryone is different, yet everyone’s the same, planted in this earth we give them all a common name

In a universe so vast we must guarantee humanity will last.

We have all made wishes on the same bright star.  We fight the same enemy in our human hearts

We will come together when we realize we dan see each other with more than just our eyes.

Don’t think in terms of them and us, the future of our people is in God we trust.

And, as one family we’ll stand with the fate of our children’s children in our hands.
