The newest CD from Faith Rivera is pure delight. Faith, already widely known for her amazing, upbeat original songs and her fabulous voice, has produced a CD of newly interpreted cover songs. One of my favorites from this CD is Faith’s version of Peter Mayer’s wonderful song “Holy Now”. Faith has added some harmonies and put this to a groove! Our band has already performed this version and they were crazy about it. Another rocker is Faith’s version of “This Little Light of Mine”. For all of those ministries who use a version of this song to bring in their youth ministries, this version will have them dancing down the aisles. In fact, I doubt that anyone in the congregation could keep from dancing. Although Faith wrote some additional verses for a couple of the songs, the only completely original song on this CD is “Thing Called Life”, which is an upbeat affirmation of the power of positive thinking. This is a FUN song, perfect for youth or the young at heart. This is a great CD to have in your car to listen to while you’re stuck in traffic. In this innovative CD, Faith breathes new life into songs that have been covered by hundreds of other artists. You will look at such classics as “Ave Maria” and “What a Wonderful World” with new eyes, and perhaps find new uses for these spiritual “pop” songs and beautiful hymns such as Josh Grobin’s “You Raise Me Up”, the Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love”, “Wind Beneath My Wings” and even a Freddy Mercury (Queen) song, “Don’t Stop Me Now”. I love it!
