Penny Nichols delights us once again with a CD of songs about growing up in southern California during the rocking 50s and 60s. Penny is a Grammy Award-winning singer earning the award as one of Jimmy Buffet’s "Coral Reefer" back up singers. She’s also a much sought after vocal arranger and is a master songwriter as well.  Penny is the director and founder of the Non-profit organization Summersongs, which hosts songwriting camps in New York and California. As a long time attendee of the Summersongs camps, I can guarantee that you will find them life changing. Check them out at www.summersongs.com

"Golden Gate" takes us on a magical journey of memory through the richly diverse California that Penny grew up in.

"Guadalupe" is a poignant song about the Mexican nannies that Penny had as she was growing up. You can hear the love that she had for these amazing women in every line of the song.

One of the most amazing songs on the CD is "Stevie Wonder" where Penny sings of meeting the iconic pop star. The song is a humorous story about being star stuck and speechless at the momentous meeting, but the chorus on this song is truly incredible, and you will be singing it for days.

This is a beautifully created CD of songs dedicated to California the way it was 50 years ago. It has a multitude of styles all woven together with the angelic voice of Penny Nichols. You will love it.
