New Day "Love in Expression"
Carole Tomahve, the musical director of Unity of Fairfax, is the leader of the 8 person ensemble New Day. Wait until you hear these stunning arrangements and harmonies that Carole has created! In fact, I hope Carole has created some choral arrangements because your music ministry is going to want to sing these songs!
The CD opens with a beautiful arrangement of "Love in Expression" written by Beau Lyons and Roger Tomhave. It speaks of the beauty within each of us.
Carole then takes the wonderful Jana Stanfield song "If I Were Brave" and adds lovely lilting harmonies and echoes. I didn't think this classic song could be improved upon, but your choir will love this easy, but powerful arrangement. Roger Tomhave and Dan Johnson (from the duo, Soul Pajamas) are writing partners.
"Fill a Cup" is a wonderful example of their great songs. This song was featured in our songbook "Shine On" and is a call to spiritual social action.
The CD also offers arrangements of two great songs from the group Devotion. "Do all you Can", which won a Posi award last year, and "Expression" which is an upbeat chant. Throw in fun arrangements of Eddie Watkins, Fred Bogert, and Daniel Nahmod, and you will see that this CD covers a wide range of spiritual songs.
This CD is well produced and the harmonies are tight, interesting, different and right on! A wonderful CD to inspire you and your music ministry.
Thank you Carole and New Day for a great CD.
