How interested are people in the power of positive?
It seems like the negative attracts more attention. Not to be a naysayer, but how much value is there in the positive message?

I think that the value of positive thinking was beautifully summed up by Henry Ford:
"Whether you believe you can, or you believe you can't, you're right."
People are hurting right now. And they are looking for ways to feel better about themselves and life. The Wall Street Journal notes that the entertainment industry is tapping into this by putting the happy into prime time and the feel good into the box office. Examples of this are Jim Carrey's Yes Man, ABC's Cupid and a proliferation of comedies put out by all of the major networks.
Devil's Advocate, here. I'm not sure the entertainment industry barometer really indicates that people looking for a laugh. The number one film of 2008 was "The Dark Knight," earning $533,184,219. "Yes Man" came in at #30, earning $97,021,369.
Norman Vincent Peale's book has been translated into 15 languages and over 7 million copies. I'd say that's a pretty good indicator of people's hunger for affirmational thinking, thought and music.
