These are songs emphasizing our similarities and creating an image of all humanity as one family with a common Creator. These songs will advocate peace and interdependence in our world but they are not protest songs. Posi Music is “pro” oneness, unity, diversity and peace.
PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION: We’ve all been changed by hearing a song which met us right where we stood at that time. These songs emphasize our journey through life and our constant evolution toward higher realization. Usually, these songs are very personal for the songwriter yet are about topics we can all relate to.
HEALING: Where personal transformation is about learning new ideas and discovery, songs in the Healing category speak to us of the journey from woundedness to wholeness. Healing can take place in our relationships with others, in healing our beliefs of prejudice or lack within ourselves, and yes, even physical healings that seem miraculous.
GROUP / CHANT: These songs are meant to invite you to not only listen, but to sing along as well. “Chants” are repetitive and affirmative statements which are usually short and memorable. The “Group” songs are songs with singable choruses and verses meant to be both infectious as well as embedding a positive thought into our heads through the act of singing.
SPIRITUAL SOCIAL ACTION: Posi Music is all about creating a world that works for everyone. These songs are meant to spur us to action, whether it be standing up for the rights of others, to start recycling, or adopting a homeless child. These songs are about social justice, the environment and recognizing our interdependence.
TRUE STORY: It is an amazing experience to hear an inspiring story skillfully put to music. These songs tell stories of ordinary people who have done extraordinary things, or of extraordinary events that have changed our lives. The fact that they are true makes these songs even more amazing. Examples: Rosa & the 3 K’s, One Day On The Fields of France, Nine Gold Medals.
