I love 80's rock. To me the best music in the world is in the time frame of my teen years. 1984 to 1991 ish. I like other stuff from other years but I always go back to the artists and music of that time frame.
Cindy Laupers Time after time is a classic tear jerker for me. When I am a bit sad or even feeling nostalgic and lonesome this song is a dead on for my mood.
Then the other side of the spectrum...Jimmy Buffet. Mom and Dad got me into him. As I age, even though I have never been a partier, I love Margaritaville, I don't know (where I am gonna go), and My feet stink.
When I am reflective on my faith I like to listen to some mainstream Christian hymns by Dennis Jernigan. When I am into the technicality of music nothing compares, in my opinion, to Burlap to Cashmere. I have one of their CDs and should get more. Its a money thing. LOL!
I find that music really brings out the real me. I listen to what I identify with. I know none of this is eye opening or ground breaking, but is real life all that new and fresh to the older folks? Someone else has already discovered what you are hearing in some fashion or another, but that doesn't diminish your experience.
Any one else have opinions?
Oh yeah, my MP3 player has Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Phil Collins, Kiss, and Billy Joel; on shuffle.
