Bio
Who is Marcy Baruch? Many have experienced her as a musical artist who infuses live concert spaces and human-yearning places with a "make you want to weep, pray, and make love" voice.
Her song "This Inner Space" won the emPower Music & Arts 2009 Posi Award for the Best Healing Song. In 2008, her bagpipe-driven march, "The Strength Of Love," was a nominee in the Group Chant category. After the release of her 2nd CD, "Clearly," in 2001, she was named among the nation's Top Ten independent female singer/songwriters by Femmusic Magazine.
As someone who delights in touching open worlds within worlds, hers is one where the reverent and the irreverent get along just fine, where soft expanse and the drive for more comprehensive clarity wrestle and commune so that something deeper and higher might evolve. Of her spirit and music, one critic mused, "Marcy Baruch strides confidently through her kick-up-the-dirt songs with steel-toed vocals and a carefree, reckless zest for life. She is more fun than spiked punch at a barn dance... offering many show-stopping, breath-taking, goosebump-raising moments."
It is in service to the moments that take our breath away that Marcy finds her music and life unfolding. For in these moments, something of the Spirit is recognized again. And in the breath that returns, our deeper gifts of love and grace are more clearly revealed.
Marcy is currently celebrating the release of her third CD, "The Strength Of Love."
