Hilary Michels is an independent singer-songwriter who is often categorized as a more soulful sounding indie folk-rocker with a substantive array of other musical styles influencing her writing and vocal styles. Artistic Motto: “To make music that is relatable, that touches hearts, and inspires higher thinking about how we all show up in this world.” It’s All About The Journey: “I have never been one to have a linear path in life. I’ve always held on tightly to the dream, however, in knowing I had to be a musician; to live the life of a true artist, no matter what. From stereotypical nascent beginnings “singing in various bands and waiting tables”, followed by a successful corporate career, I kept the dream close to my heart. After stepping off the corporate ladder to be more involved in raising our daughter, the siren song of music pulled me back more strongly than ever. At that point, I decided there was no more waiting for IT to happen. Now was the time to fully invest myself into the realm of my true passion.” "Brave New World is a full-length, 13-song CD that took me two years to write and record. It was written in response to my own personal journey that led me on many unexpected, and sometimes difficult, pathways. My music is very message-driven with themes centering around love, the fragility of our planet, hopes and dreams, spirituality, and a few self-deprecating looks back on some of my darker days that finally turned to light." "Spirit Dance is a single that I put out last year, which is a departure from my Brave New World sound. I kept hearing and hearing a very Enya-esque sound in my head, and I ultimately had to write about this essence of meditation that was so pervasive in my heart." My Interests
I lead an active lifestyle that embraces physical, emotional and spiritual wellness. I thrive on adventure travel with my family. I love anything to do with running, biking, swimming (triathalons), skiing, composing music, and SINGING! I am a passionate and committed mother to our 10-year old daughter, and a devoted wife to my incredible husband! I am grateful, grateful, GRATEFUL to Be Here Now!
