Q. What is the deadline for submissions to the 7th Annual emPower Posi Awards?
A. 12:01 AM (EST) on May 25
Q. What is the submission fee?
A. The submission fee is $20 per song.
Q. How many songs can I submit?
A. You may submit as many songs as you like.
Q. What song file formats will emPower accept?
A. We can only accept songs submitted in mp3 format. mp3 is a standard file format that both PC & Mac users can play. We will have many judges listening to the submitted songs and the mp3 format ensures that we will mitigate any compatibility issues.
Q. When and where are the emPower Posi Awards held?
A. The awards will be held January 2012. We are researching a number of locations. Keep an eye on the emPower website for updates.
Q. Are the annual emPower Posi Awards attended by the winners only?
A. No. emPower Music & Arts is creating a yearly industry event that is intended for everyone in the empowerment community to attend. The awards are only a highlight of an event that is entertaining and educational for all.
Q. Why should I attend if I'm not a winner?
A. Well, we're all winners, but one important thing to remember is that the Posi Awards are a way to honor and connect with our colleagues. emPower is all about giving the empowerment community opportunities to become more successful, not only through education and promotion, but also through networking.
Q. How do I convert my files to mp3 format using iTunes?
A. The following video will show you how to convert your songs with iTunes.
- The instructions in the video are for Mac users, but PC users can substitute "right click" for "control click."
- To find where iTunes puts the files (for PC users), go to your music library, then right click on the song title and click on "get info." You will see the path to the song file at the bottom of the box, under the summary tab.
