Adults of Unity Retreat, 2012, Unity Village, MO

I just returned from a week long event at Unity Village, where I had the extreme joy of providing musical support for keynote presenter Rev. David Ault at the 2012 Adults of Unity Retreat. One of the best parts of being a Posi artist is the opportunity to blend into a conference or retreat and become part of the overall group. Each event is not just a "gig"; it becomes a life-changing, transformational experience, for both You and the attendees.

It was a SUBLIME pleasure working with Rev. David as he is such a clear, concise, HUMOROUS speaker who reaches right into the heart and has you transforming for the better from the first few words he speaks. Being able to support the event musically through each day was SUPER fun. We were all able to create in the moment and I was able to write music onsite that could immediately fit into the next session. The retreat guests were all genuinely, lovingly supportive, not only of the music, but also of the individual family group sessions and larger group keynote sessions. Priceless moments were etched into each of our souls, from the first Saturday night ice-breaker session, to the Monday night concert where I shared my songs, to the Tuesday night talent show where everyone got up and shared their light with the group to the Burning Bowl releasing ceremony! Not to mention the daily morning walks on paths I didn't even know existed on the grounds, led by Joe, and the Friday golf game with me and "da boyz". It was a dynamic, unique and fun experience for all.

Everything went very smoothly, in large part because of the AOU's "Dream Team", Alberta, Joe, Drayton, Jeannetta, Debbie and the rest of the folks. Many attendees were "long-timers". One fellow had been coming to this retreat since 1967! So, needless to say, they were a richly grounded group that were ready to open their hearts and minds and "do the work" together to support each other on their individual quests while we were all there.

Events like this, where I am "hired" as a musician, but come away feeling like a blessed and nourished attendee, rock my world. I feel renewed, recharged, validated and supported as an independent music minister, blessed to share my light with other like-minded souls and happy to be on the path I am on. Thank you UNIVERSE for guiding me to exactly where I need to be. Thank you Richard for the golf clubs and keyboard and for entertaining us while we were there. Thank you David for choosing me as your support musician. Thank you LIFE for being so much fun and such a wonderful ride thus far! Keep rocking the world with all you do folks, and I promise to do the same!
